Welcome to my Introduction to Linocut Printmaking Workshop! In this three-week workshop, you'll discover the joy of creating your own linocut prints. I will guide you through the process of designing and carving your own linocut block, and printing your own unique images. Throughout the course, I will share my knowledge and skills to help you master the linocut technique. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary, this course is perfect for beginners but also serves as a great refresher for people who have dabbled in printmaking before. You'll start by learning about the tools and materials needed for linocut printmaking, including lino cutters, brayers, ink, and paper. From there, you'll create your own designs and transfer them onto your lino block, ready for carving. I've worked in plenty of time for you to workshop your image between classes to make sure you design something you are truly proud of! During the second week, I will teach you carving techniques, including how to create different textures and effects with your lino cutters. With your linocut block complete, you'll then move on to printing, exploring different ink application techniques and paper types to create your perfect print. By the end of the course, you'll have created your own linocut prints to take home and proudly display. You'll also have the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring this rewarding art form on your own. So come and join me for three weeks of creative exploration and inspiration. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore their creativity and learn a new skill. Sign up today to secure your spot! Space is limited, as class size is capped at ten. All supplies and materials are included.
